Red Bull Air Race returns to Porto in 2017!
Created in 2003, the Red Bull Air Race is a world-class air racing competition, followed by millions of fans around the world. It is, in fact, since 2005 a competition in a format of world championship.
Modern high-competition aircraft compete with each other in a mind-blowing race against the stopwatch, where speed (which reaches 400km/h) and expertise will determine the best air racing driver in the world!
After eight years, the Red Bull Air Race returns to the city of Porto and Gaia, where they still have the highest records of assistance ever marked in the championship. Confirmed at a press conference by the presidents of the Municipal Councils of Porto and Vila Nova de Gaia, the event will take place on the first weekend of September, being the sixth and the last-to-last competition of a calendar consisting of eight competitions in other countries.
As in the previous events, the Red Bull Air Race will have its circuit drawn between the Arrábida Bridge and the Luiz I Bridge. The location and layout delimited by inflatable gates will ensure that this will be one of the most challenging and fastest races which pilots will have to face throughout the season!
Our Your Guesthouse is located just a few minutes from the venue and is a great starting point to rest or have a meal. Mark on the calendar the first weekend of September and come live this incredible experience with us.
The official television of the event will be the portuguese broadcaster SIC, which will broadcast on a planetary level to an estimated audience of 300 million viewers.
